Today I wanted to share with you some things you can use to support yourself emotionally during this time of change. Most of us know what triggers us to overeat or do any other self destructive behavior. I use the example of overeating because that is a very common one and I myself can fall into this trap.
So how do we support ourselves emotionally? I know a few oils that can support in this and I would love to share them with you.
My first one is Bergamot. This oil will help you love yourself. Rub a drop or 2 over your heart in a clockwise direction. This opens up the heart shakra and will assist you in loving who you are where you are. After I rub it on I cup my hands over my nose and mouth and inhale for a few minutes to make sure I get an immediate uplift.
I didn’t really realize how powerful this oil is until one day during a class I was teaching I was drawn to teach about Bergamot and as I was teaching about it I started to cry. It was the first time I realized I had stopped being so self judgemental. WOW! That was a powerful moment for me.
Another oil I would like to share with you is Cinnamon. This is one that can assist an individual in accepting their body and embracing their physical attractiveness. Realizing our beauty is key. This oil is one that I would inhale. You can rub it on but, consider a spot like the bottom of the feet because this oil is a “hot” oil. When applying it to the skin you will want to dilute it with fractionated coconut oil.
The third oil I would like to share with you is Lavender oil. This oil can calm the insecurities that are felt when one risks their true thoughts and feelings so add a few drops to your bath or on the floor of the shower. Remember that feelings buried alive never die. Let me say that again. Feelings buried alive never die! What does that mean? It is natural to not want to feel negative feelings so what do we do as humans? We bury them and sometimes very deep inside of us but guess what. They live on and just like a cancer can grow and destroy the cells around it buried feeling can slowly kill us over time. We need to figure out how to take those feelings and face them head on then release them. Use your lavender to calm those insecurities. YOU ARE STRONG! Investigate why something makes you feel a certain way then ask your heart if this is REALLY true. Most of the time it’s not. It’s just how we are perceiving things. Our perception is what is wrong. Look at it from a different angle.
As you go on this journey remember you are not alone. We all have those shadows that scare us. We all have doubts. Love yourself enough to use the oils.
