There are so many things that we need to focus on when it comes to weight loss. I want to cover some of these but first I want you to ask yourselves a few questions.
1.Why do I want to lose weight? This can be a tricky question and we tend to give very surface answers when asked this question so before you answer I want you to stop and think about this. What feeling are you wanting? What would it mean to you if you were to lose weight?
2.What do you want more of? I put this question as part of the WHY section but I also want it as a seperate question. As a health coach I find so many of us either don’t know what they want or they want more of the unhealthy choices than anything else. I know for myself the drive to eat chocolate overpowers my drive to eat healthy. So I will ask you again. WHAT do YOU want more of?
The last question, at least for now, what are you willing to sacrifice to get what you REALLY want? Are you willing to sacrifice TV time in order to get more exercise? Are you will to sacrifice the comfort you find in eating to replace that with a healthy option? We all want ways to comfort ourselves but, we will want to break certain cycles so we can move past feelings we don’t like such as loneliness, sadness, and feeling like a failure.
Did you know that only 5% of people that have weight loss surgery succeed at losing the weight and keeping it off? Only 5%!!!! That is crazy! WHY????
What % of people are independently wealthy? 2%. It is because most of us aren’t willing to do what it takes to become wealthy. Some of us reach our goals and some don’t. What percentage group do you want to be in? Truly be in? Of course all of you said you wanted to be in the independently wealthy, fit, and healthy group right!? Is that what you truly want though?
There is a correlation between how we use our money and our eating. Are you over spending and are you over eating? Most likely if you over eat you live paycheck to paycheck. Talk about living a stressful life which just feeds the eating habit!
I am going to share with you a few tips that may help you along this path of life that will help you live it to the fullest and healthiest you can.
What drives us to the state of living where we give up on ourselves? Our emotions drive our physical bodies and can actually show up as pain and other health issues so the first thing I want to address is our emotional state.
We can control our emotions with our thinking. How can we maintain a happy and positive outlook on life? The mind is a marvelous thing. Just like a garden will grow what ever you plant in it if you nourish it so will the mind. If you plant corn or beans in your garden that’s what will grow. If you plant night shade which is a poisonous plant and nourish it that’s what will grow. The mind is even stronger than the garden. What you plant in your mind and nourish by focusing on it is what will grow. If you plant in your mind self doubt and thoughts of not being good enough that’s the results you will get. Your body will start to break down and let you feel the results of your thoughts.
